With St. Patrick’s Day here, I knew I wanted to bake something to celebrate one of my favorite cultures. I was kicking myself a bit since I previously made cupcakes which are, well, practically the most perfect Irish stereotypical culture themed dessert, but thankfully, this fit the bill quite well. Drinking whiskey straight isn’t something I do often, but cooking with it is phenomenal. It makes everything aromatic, malty, and just richer. Combined with coffee and chocolate, this cake is out-of-this-world in the flavor levels. Topped with more coffee-whiskey glaze, these are borderline Paula Deen level indulgent, but hey, it’s a holiday which automatically means indulging. Which makes it okay…. right?

I have a little predicament. My problem is I have 2 and half sticks of butter with one cup granulated sugar that's been beaten until fluffy. What can I do with it? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I messed up a cake recipe, and accidentally used two sticks of butter instead of the 1.5 I was supposed to use. My Mom bot knowing this, put the sugar in the mixer and started it! XD
TIA!
i'm wanting to make a strawberry pie (OR multiple 'personal-sized' pies!). i'm a very beginner baker and i've never attempted pie before. does anyone have a delicious recipe that's good for someone who doesn't know what they're doing?
also, does it make a huge difference if the strawberries are fresh or if they're the frozen kind? i guess it probably does, but please share anyway.
PS no rhubarb plz.
THANK YOUUU <3

These cupcakes are fun to make... but it just about kills me to not add frosting!! Am I crazy? (dont answer that!)

Homemade graham crackers on their way to becoming a mighty fine s'more.

My mother has a new diet which means normal treats are off the table, I have decided to make her muffins once a week for a treat. However, after trying like four different recipes for muffin I have yet found any that work. (either not enough flavor or just wrong)
so, this is why I come to you guys to ask: Does anyone have a good muffin recipe?
also, what is your tips for making muffins, maybe just I am doing something wrong.
thanks in advance
The conference itself is providing accommodation on the floor of a marae some distance from the venue, but I'm thinking that sleeping in a sleeping bag in a public space may not be the best for actually getting things done while I'm visiting.
Any thoughts, offers, recommendations?

I adore this idea. As a single person, when I get the urge to bake something sweet, I'm kind of screwed. Either I keep it at home and end up overindulging or throwing most of it out... or I take it to work and become popular, but spend money feeding other people. :/ Individually-sized pies? HEAVEN.
Pi Pie Day was a fun day. :D And is going to end on a delicious note, eventually, when this darned pie finishes cooking. Oooh right, time to go whip the whipped cream... *drool*
Edit: and now with post-baking photos! At least of the pumpkin, although you can probably tell from this one what's going to happen with the chicken pies :P

Mmm. Pie. Unlike my photo attempts, the crust recipe was perfect. I discovered that despite futzing around forever with the thickness in the bottom rim, they still came out too thick - the bottom and bottom rim of the crust was still doughy. Fortunately, this minor tragedy was easily averted by eating around the bottom. ;) Next time I'll probably dip a small glass in flour and work the edges a bit more - again, with short, fat fingers, this was not particularly easy for me. Thank god this recipe calls for the short, fat jars is all I can say. ;p
The filling was a definite success. I was really worried about that as I had no family recipe to go by, and had to just kind of close my eyes and click around Google to find something. This one had a fantastic flavor, warm and sort of party-in-your-mouth-y, but not spicy enough that you couldn't taste the pumpkin. I'm already planning to make apple pies next weekend. XD
I'm putting out some feelers for recipes for icing/frostings that don't have an abundance of icing sugar in them but are pretty easy to make. My sister is planning to make a cake for my nephew's upcoming birthday and would like to make it herself. Cream cheese frostings have already been crossed off the list.
So, fellow bakers, do you have any suggestions for me? White icings that are easy to colour for decoration purposes would be preferable.
Thanks for you help guys. :)
